HH the Amir Opens Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit with Strong Message on Israeli Actions

Doha: HH the Amir inaugurated the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, delivering a firm address that underscored three critical truths about recent actions by the Israeli government, which he characterized as a significant threat to regional sovereignty and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Amir emphasized the perceived ambitions of the Israeli Prime Minister, who claims to have reshaped the Middle East landscape over the past two years. The Amir criticized these ambitions as delusional, warning that Israel seeks to extend its influence across the Arab region. He pointed to the actions of the Israeli government, which he described as extremist, and their routine use of military force in neighboring countries, such as Lebanon and Syria.

In his address, the Amir highlighted the situation in Lebanon, where Israeli actions are seen as attempts to provoke civil unrest. He also noted the Israeli Prime Minister’s outright refusal to negotiate over the occupied Golan Heights, and the implication that areas south of Damascus are under Israeli influence. The Amir expressed confidence that these plans would ultimately fail.

The Amir further criticized Israel’s self-portrayal as a democracy surrounded by adversaries. He argued that Israel is, in fact, an occupying force engaging in apartheid and genocide, committing crimes without restraint. He condemned the Israeli Prime Minister’s recent declaration against the establishment of a Palestinian State, and questioned Israel’s antagonistic stance towards the Palestinian Authority.

The Amir pointed out that while two neighboring states have signed peace agreements with Israel and others adhere to the Arab Peace Initiative, Israel continues to reject these overtures for peace. Instead, it seeks to impose its will, branding dissenters as terrorists or antisemites. The Amir accused the far-right Israeli government of adopting terroristic and racist policies.

He concluded by urging the Summit to take decisive action against what he termed as Israel’s madness of power, arrogance, and bloodlust. The Amir called for steps to confront the ongoing war, displacement, and settlement expansions in Palestine, as well as Israeli interventions in Arab sovereignty and aggression against his own nation, which he described as a peaceful mediator respected globally.

The opening ceremony was attended by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with several ministers, delegation members, assistant secretaries, and representatives from regional and international organizations.
