Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday to deliberate on the strong fraternal relations between Qatar and the UAE. The leaders discussed avenues for enhancing collaboration across various domains and reviewed regional and international developments aimed at achieving peace and stability for the benefit of all regional populations.
According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir expressed his pleasure in hosting the UAE President and his delegation, emphasizing that the visit underscores the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. In response, HH the President of the UAE reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for Qatar, asserting solidarity with any measures taken by Qatar to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the talks, the UAE President highlighted the impact of Israeli aggression as a breach of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law, which threatens regional peace and stability. He commended the endeavors of HH the Amir in promoting peace within the region. In return, HH the Amir expressed gratitude for the UAE’s supportive stance towards Qatar and its people.
The discussions also touched upon regional and international matters of mutual concern, focusing particularly on the Middle East peace process and ongoing ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. Both leaders underscored the significance of dialogue and diplomatic solutions as key strategies for resolving regional crises and ensuring both regional and global security.
The meeting witnessed the attendance of prominent Qatari officials, including HH Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, among others. From the UAE, notable attendees included HH Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and other senior officials.
Following the discussions, a bilateral meeting was held where both leaders exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest. The occasion concluded with HH the Amir hosting a luncheon banquet to honor the UAE President and his accompanying delegation.
