Muscat: European stock indices closed higher at the end of the first trading session of the new month, despite ongoing concerns about artificial intelligence and a easing of the precious metals sell-off that had impacted global markets. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index pared its losses from earlier in the day, closing up 1.02 percent at 617.23 points, while the UK's FTSE 100 rose 1.15 percent to 10,341.56 points. According to Qatar News Agency, France's CAC 40 index climbed approximately 0.6 percent. Meanwhile, Germany's DAX index also rose by 1 percent, closing at 24,784.92 points.
