“Creative Qatar Tourism” Book Launched at Katara, Marking World Tourism Day

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara has hosted the inauguration ceremony of the “Creative Qatar Tourism” book authored by Mouza Abdulaziz Al Ishaq to mark World Tourism Day, which annually falls on Sept. 27.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event was attended by several ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, media practitioners, and individuals interested in the tourism sector. The book serves as a media and documentary reference, allowing researchers, students, and journalists to track the evolutionary stages of Qatari tourism through direct experiences and on-the-ground engagement with events and activities.

The book presents an overarching vision for the future of tourism within sustainable development, featuring 73 articles published by the author between 2013 and 2024. These articles focus sharply on the tourism sector in Qatar and the region, accompanied by a visually rich compendium of photographs, accolades, and influential personalities who have shaped the path of tourism transformation over the past decade.

The articles document the evolutionary stages since the launch of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030), from hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to achieving a stage of maturity reflected in global accolades and a leading position across international benchmarks.

The genre also highlights women’s success stories and innovations in green tourism and digital transformation, covering major events like Expo 2023 Doha, as well as numerous conferences and exhibitions. The writer presents an overall vision for tourism philosophy in Qatar, emphasizing the diversity of the tourism sector in terms of sustainable culture, sports, and events.

Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, stated that tourism media is a core pillar in the development strategy, illuminating achieved milestones and Qatar’s forward-looking profile derived from QNV 2030. He noted that Katara has become a microcosm where arts, heritage, and innovation converge, crafting a model for cultural tourism.

Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Faisal Global for Culture and Knowledge, highlighted that the articles delve into pivotal subjects such as the role of Qataris in building a model for cultural tourism during the World Cup 2022 and the Qatari diplomatic presence in promoting the nation’s image as a global destination.

Mouza Abdulaziz Al Ishaq expressed her gratitude to Katara for supporting Qatari innovation, affirming that the book aligns with this year’s World Tourism Day motto focused on sustainable development, environmental protection, and supporting the economy and community. She emphasized the role of tourism media in supporting QNV 2030 and diversifying the economy by enhancing Qatar’s positive image on the global stage.
