China and Russia Commence Joint Naval Military Exercises in Qingdao

Qingdao: The joint Russian-Chinese naval military exercises, titled "Maritime Interaction 2026," have commenced at the naval base in Qingdao, located in Shandong Province in eastern China. These exercises are scheduled to occur from July 6-13, as part of the regular joint naval drills conducted by the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Chinese Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that the Chinese and Russian navies would engage in joint naval exercises in both the waters and airspace near the coastal city of Qingdao. The ministry detailed that units from both countries are expected to undertake joint maritime patrols in designated areas of the Pacific Ocean following the exercises.

The ministry highlighted the exercises as a component of the yearly cooperation plan between China and Russia. The exercises are designed to address security challenges and to jointly uphold regional peace and stability.
