Casualties

The fighting intensified between the two sides of the crisis in Sudan, between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which led to the death toll rising to 270, with the collapse of the declared truce between the two parties.

The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Ghebreyesus, said in a press statement: “At least 270 people have been killed.”

“More than 2,600 others have been injured since the fighting broke out last Saturday,” Ghebreyesus added.

The Central Committee of Sudanese Doctors, which records the injuries, said on Tuesday: “No less than 174 civilians were killed and 1,041 wounded.”
