Doha: British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani engaged in discussions concerning recent regional developments and the impact of Iranian actions on Bahrain and neighboring countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting emphasized the necessity for joint regional and global initiatives to ease tensions and address conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy. Both officials highlighted the significance of ensuring security and freedom of navigation in crucial waterways, such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, to maintain the unimpeded flow of international trade and the supply of energy and food.
The discussions also explored opportunities for enhancing cooperation and coordination between the United Kingdom and Bahrain across multiple areas.
