34 Miners Killed in Explosion at Coal Mine in Pakistan

Doha: At least 34 miners were killed in a methane gas explosion at a coal mine in Balochistan province, southern Pakistan.

According to Qatar News Agency, information from rescue teams deployed at the site confirmed that 34 bodies have been recovered, as stated by the provincial disaster management authority in a recent announcement.

The statement further mentioned that joint rescue teams are actively continuing their search and rescue operations for any remaining trapped miners. However, the authority did not specify the number of individuals who were inside the mine when the explosion occurred.

Local sources reported that the explosion inflicted damage on the mine, which is situated near Quetta, the capital of the mineral-rich province of Balochistan.
