New york: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that efforts must be made to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible, emphasizing that anyone who remains silent about what is happening in Gaza is complicit in the genocide.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish president added in his speech before the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations held in New York that Israel is launching attacks on Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and recently against a delegation in Qatar involved in ceasefire negotiations.
Erdogan questioned the justification behind Israel’s actions in the Palestinian territories. He wondered if Israel claims its actions in Gaza are because of Hamas, then why it is doing the same in the West Bank-where Hamas has no presence.
He called for those responsible for the genocide in Gaza to be held accountable under international law.
