Mina: HE Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs and Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, conducted a thorough tour of the Qatari pilgrim camps located at the holy sites of Mina and Arafat. The visit was aimed at assessing the level of readiness and ensuring that all necessary services are fully available for the pilgrims.
According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency meticulously inspected public facilities designated for Qatari pilgrims, focusing on their safety, functionality, and operational efficiency across the seventeen Qatari campaigns for the 1446 AH Hajj season. The inspection was crucial to ensure that the distribution aligns with the number of pilgrims in each campaign.
The State of Qatar prioritizes the safety and comfort of its pilgrims, as emphasized by the country’s leadership. HE Al Ghanim highlighted Qatar’s commitment to providing top-tier logistical, medical, and religious services, aiming to make this year’s pilgrimage a model of excellent preparation, execution, and organization. The services are designed to best suit the needs of Qatari pilgrims and reflect the nation’s honorable image in serving the fifth pillar of Islam.
HE Al Ghanim’s tour began in Arafat, where he received a comprehensive explanation of the equipment, services, and utilities provided by the company responsible, under the supervision of the Advisory Committee and the Holy Sites Services Unit of the Qatari Hajj Mission. The facilities were noted for their exceptional organization and integrated amenities, conforming to the highest standards and specifications.
In Mina, His Excellency reviewed the camp facilities, which were designed to meet the pilgrims’ needs using the best materials. The camps are divided into separate areas for men and women, fully equipped with utilities, and feature state-of-the-art toilets. These facilities adhere to the highest standards recognized by Qatar’s pilgrims.
Upon concluding his tours, HE Al Ghanim praised the efforts of the Makkah Hospitality Company and the collaboration with the advisors and the mission’s Holy Sites Services Unit. He also acknowledged the support provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
The Qatari camps at Arafat have undergone significant upgrades, including purpose-built tents, air-conditioned rest areas, premium-grade interlock tiles, and misting fan corridors. The camps provide diverse rest zones for prayer and supplication, separate air-conditioned lounges for men and women, and heat-insulated PVC tents with efficient air conditioning systems.
The mission has prioritized facilities for persons with disabilities, ensuring their ease and autonomy in performing the Hajj rites. Medical clinics, examination rooms, isolation units, inpatient care, and emergency sections are available, supported by high-spec ambulances. The mission’s medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and pharmacists, ensure continuous care for pilgrims.
The camps at Mina and Arafat are equipped with comprehensive safety and security measures and healthcare infrastructure, reinforcing the mission’s commitment to supporting pilgrims in performing their rites with optimal conditions and full serenity.
