AMAN Center Unveils ‘We Learn with AMAN’ Educational Initiative

Doha: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center "AMAN" of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work has announced the launch of the 'We Learn with AMAN' initiative as part of its ongoing awareness programs.

According to Qatar News Agency, the center highlighted that this educational initiative is rooted in its commitment to providing comprehensive care for children. This approach not only addresses social and psychological aspects but also emphasizes education, a key element in character building and future opportunity enhancement for children. The initiative aims to empower children by equipping them with essential skills that facilitate continuous education and integration into the school environment. Central to achieving this is the establishment of an in-house learning unit within AMAN's internal care department. This unit will offer a simplified yet comprehensive educational program tailored to children's needs, providing a robust academic foundation within a secure and stimulating environment, ultimately preparing them for future integration into the formal school system.

The center disclosed that the initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, specifically through the Department of Curriculum and Learning Resources. This partnership ensures alignment of the educational program with the national curriculum and provides necessary educational support to ensure quality learning outcomes. Coordination with several volunteer teachers has also been established to deliver educational lessons during the initiative's pilot phase. Furthermore, evaluations are being conducted to assess results and explore the potential for continued collaboration and expanded volunteer involvement to bolster the program's sustainability and objectives.

AMAN noted that the initiative specifically targets children benefiting from its services in the internal care unit who face learning challenges. The program focuses on developing skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, along with fostering personal skills and boosting self-confidence, thereby preparing them for formal education and enabling them to continue their studies.

Fadhel Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Center, stated that through this initiative, the center seeks to bridge the educational gap for children in its internal care unit and provide a supportive learning environment that offers equal opportunities for learning and growth. He emphasized that this represents a significant step towards enhancing the quality of services provided to children in the internal care unit and strengthens the integration of care, protection, and education, in line with the center's vision and mission to empower children within a cohesive family environment.

In conclusion, Al Kaabi praised the partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for its crucial support in the initiative and acknowledged the efforts of volunteer teachers who embody social responsibility values.
