Kutahya: An earthquake measuring 5.4 magnitude on the Richter Scale struck the central Turkish province of Kutahya on Sunday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced that the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 8.46 kilometers. It added that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the district of Simav, within the Kutahya province. The tremor was felt by residents of several major cities, including Istanbul, Izmir, and Bursa, as well as in a number of neighboring provinces.
No major casualties were reported, although there were reports of minor injuries and panic among residents who rushed into the streets. Minor damage to some older buildings was also reported.
