Doha: Cultural Village Foundation – Katara has unveiled the details of the 6th Qatar International Arts Festival (QIAF 2024). The event will be organized from November 25-30 in collaboration with MAPS International, the International Council of Museums, and the British Council. Katara’s Director of Research and Studies Dr. Nadia Al Mudahka announced during a press conference on Sunday that the festival reflects a shared vision of spreading culture and enhancing artistic interaction. Dr. Al Mudahka expressed Katara’s aspirations to deepen cooperation for further intercultural communication through the participation of artists from various schools.
According to Qatar News Agency, the festival will attract a large number of visual artists from around the world to showcase their diverse creations, enhancing communication and cultural diversity. This supports the building of a cultural and artistic dialogue that transcends borders and languages. Founder and President of MAPS International, Rashmi Agarwal, stated
that the event would gather approximately 350 participants from 73 countries. Agarwal mentioned that the festival will feature a variety of activities, including an underwater dive and pointe ballet dance, along with 15 galleries from across the globe.
The event will display 16 international pavilions representing Qatar, the US, the UK, France, Spain, Iran, China, Russia, Armenia, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Uruguay, and Slovakia. An award ceremony is scheduled for November 30 to honor distinguished works presented during the festival.
