Cairo: Several Arab and international countries strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran early this morning, warning that such escalation could spark a wider conflict and undermine regional stability.
According to Qatar News Agency, Egypt denounced the Israeli strikes, calling them a blatant and dangerous escalation. It described the attacks as a serious violation of international law and of the UN Charter, posing a direct threat to both regional and global peace. Egypt’s Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement that it is deeply concerned about the rapid developments, and called the assault unjustified, warning that it would fuel the crisis further and risk dragging the region into a broader conflict with unprecedented consequences.
Lebanon also condemned the strikes, saying they not only targeted the Iranian people but also undermined international efforts to maintain Middle East stability and prevent escalation. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated that such attacks are designed to sabotage diplomatic initiatives and mediation efforts that had made significant progress toward realistic solutions to avoid war in the region.
Iraq issued a strong condemnation and called on the UN Security Council to hold an emergency meeting. Government spokesperson Bassem Al Awadi described the Israeli military strike as a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter. He said this act threatens international peace and security, particularly troubling given that it occurred during ongoing US-Iran negotiations. Al Awadi stressed that condemnation alone is no longer enough; concrete international action is necessary. He urged the Security Council to respond with firm and practical steps to deter further aggression and uphold international legal norms.
Turkiye also condemned the Israeli attack, calling it a clear breach of international law and a provocative act that threatens regional stability. The Turkish Foreign Ministry rejected any escalation in the Middle East and urged the global community to act swiftly to prevent the spread of war.
Russia, through presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, expressed concern over the sharp escalation in tensions, condemning the latest developments and warning about their dangerous implications.
Pakistan strongly denounced the Israeli strike. The Foreign Ministry in Islamabad said the attack violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, clashed with the UN Charter, and defied international legal principles. The statement affirmed Pakistan’s firm solidarity with the Iranian people and described the assault as a dangerous provocation threatening peace and security throughout the region and beyond.
Indonesia also condemned the Israeli attack and warned that it could escalate already heightened regional tensions and lead to a broader conflict. The Indonesian Foreign Ministry called on all parties to exercise restraint and avoid being drawn into open confrontation.
