WHO: Situation in Gaza Getting Worse Every Hour

Gaza, – The World Health Organization (WHO) underscored Tuesday that the situation in the Gaza Strip is getting worse every hour as the Israeli occupation intensifies its bombing of the south around the cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah.

WHO Representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territory Richard Peeperkorn told reporters via video link from Gaza that the situation is getting worse every hour and bombing is intensifying everywhere, including the southern areas of Khan Yunis and Rafah.

Peeperkorn added that the humanitarian aid reaching Gaza is “very little,” noting that the WHO is deeply concerned about the weakness of the health system in the densely populated Strip as more people move south to escape the bombing.

Peeperkorn said the WHO implemented an order for the Israeli occupation to remove supplies from warehouses in Khan Yunis, adding that the organization was informed that the area would likely become an active combat zone in the coming days.

WHO expressed on Sunday grave concern about the resumption of the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, reiterating its assertion that “there is no safe place in Gaza”.
