US Stocks Close Sharply Higher

New York: Major US stock indices closed sharply higher at the end of trading today. According to Qatar News Agency, the S and P 500 index closed up 67.34 points, or 1.12 percent, to settle at 6,092.51. The Nasdaq Composite Index experienced a rise of 283.62 points, or 1.45 percent, reaching 19,914.59 points. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 510.19 points, or 1.20 percent, concluding at 43,091.97.
