Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced Wednesday his readiness to convene a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a bid to push forward the stalled peace talks with Russia.
According to Qatar News Agency, addressing a press conference in Kyiv, Zelenskyy emphasized that he is ready for this meeting any day, adding that he would offer a ceasefire to the Russians ahead of the summit.
On May 15 and Jun. 2, 2025, the Turkish city of Istanbul hosted two rounds of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian delegations, with a Turkish delegation in attendance.
The negotiations were intended to end the war that has raged since February 2022, culminating in agreements on prisoner exchanges and the submission of proposal memoranda by both sides aimed at reaching a peace deal and securing a ceasefire.
