UK and Lebanon Explore Strengthening Military Ties

Beirut: Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, met on Saturday with Lebanese Army Commander Maj. Gen. Rudolph Haykal during his visit to the United Kingdom. The discussions focused on supporting the Lebanese military and enhancing military cooperation between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, Maj. Gen. Rudolph Haykal also held meetings with British National Security Adviser and member of the House of Lords Jonathan Powell, Minister of State for Defence and member of the House of Lords Lord Vernon Coaker, and British Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa Hamish Falconer. These discussions reviewed the challenges faced by the Lebanese military in maintaining security, stability, and border protection, as well as efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Lebanon.
