Turkiye, Somalia Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Energy Sector

Ankara: Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar and visiting Somali Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Dahir Shire Mohamed discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Bayraktar stated that they discussed the current status of hydrocarbon exploration activities being conducted by both countries onshore and offshore in Somalia, as well as operational planning for the next phase.

According to Qatar News Agency, Bayraktar emphasized that Turkiye considers Somalia one of its most important partners in Africa and believes that their bilateral cooperation in the hydrocarbons sector will usher in a new era in the near future.
