Turkish security authorities announced that they had dismantled an espionage cell in Istanbul city which was operating for Israeli Mossad.
The total number of those arrested on charges of dealing with Mossad was 7 persons some of them were Turkish and others from Arab nationalities, said a security source quoted by Turkish Daily Sabah Newspaper on Monday.
The Newspaper reported that the cell was assigned by Mossad to undertake an espionage mission on the Turkish defense industries, along with some opponents in Turkiye, pointing out that the spies obtained extensive and advanced trainings outside Turkiye and were familiar with a high degree of professionalism to make sure that they would not be captured by Turkish National Intelligence Organization which was tracking all their movements since long time.
Turkish National Intelligence Organization dismantled multiple Mossad cells during the past years the last operation was in December 2022, when it captured 44 persons on charges of spying for Mossad.
