Ankara: Turkiye and Malaysia have signed multiple agreements to bolster their strategic cooperation across several sectors. This development follows the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two nations, attended by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Ankara.
According to Qatar News Agency, the agreements focus on enhancing collaboration in investment, finance, information and communication technology, and economic and social research. The meeting marked a significant step in fortifying the bilateral relations between Turkiye and Malaysia.
During a joint press conference, President Erdogan emphasized Turkiye's commitment to deepening its cooperation with Malaysia, especially in the defense industry. He also highlighted the fruitful discussions held with Prime Minister Ibrahim, which covered both regional and international developments. Erdogan expressed satisfaction with the alignment of both countries' perspectives on global issues.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reiterated Malaysia's eagerness to strengthen ties with Turkiye, acknowledging Turkiye's expertise in science and manufacturing. The cooperative efforts between the two countries are expected to yield significant benefits in the coming years.
