Turkish, Russian Presidents Discuss Bilateral Relations, Regional International Issues Over Phone

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations and regional and international issues in a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Turkish president expressed concern over the cycle of violence that began with attacks on Iran at dawn last Friday, which he said has endangered the security of the entire region. He emphasized the urgent need for a return to negotiations.

Erdogan highlighted the importance of ensuring that the Israeli aggression against Iran does not distract from the genocide being committed against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Russian President Putin concurred with Erdogan on the necessity to end the conflict and prioritize diplomacy.

The Israeli entity launched a large-scale attack on Iran last Friday, targeting nuclear and military facilities, resulting in the deaths of military leaders, nuclear scientists, and dozens of civilians, along with significant infrastructure damage.

Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on sites in the occupied territories, heightening fears of a broader conflict that could destabilize the region.
