Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin discussed political and economic bilateral relations with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and Under Secretary for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, as well as discussing the earthquake disaster in Turkiye, in addition to defense and energy security cooperation.
This came during Kalin’s current official visit to the US capital, Washington, to hold a series of meetings with US officials, according to a statement issued by the Turkish presidency.
On Kalin’s visit to Washington, the White House said in a statement that the Turkish Presidential Spokesperson and the US National Security Adviser discussed bilateral relations, as well as some regional and international dossiers of mutual interest.
The statement pointed out that Sullivan affirmed the United States’ continued support for those affected by the disaster.
For her part, Nuland commented on her meeting with Kalin saying that they discussed the support provided by the United States to Turkiye, as well as evaluating bilateral and regional cooperation, in addition to Sweden and Finland’s NATO membership.
