Turkish President Erdogan Commits to Supporting Lebanon’s Institutional Capacity Building

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced Turkiye's continued support for Lebanon's efforts to enhance its institutional capacities, alongside ongoing humanitarian and technical assistance. This declaration was made during a joint press conference with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, following their discussions on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, Erdogan emphasized Turkiye's desire to participate in initiatives aimed at preserving Lebanon's sovereignty, especially in the context of the withdrawal of the current international force. He also highlighted Turkiye's close monitoring of diplomatic efforts to resolve the Israeli aggression and occupation.

Erdogan reiterated Turkiye's commitment to assist in the reconstruction of southern Lebanon in the aftermath of Israeli attacks. Lebanese President Aoun underscored the importance of the Lebanese-Turkish partnership in shaping the region's future. He noted that his visit to Turkiye symbolizes the strong ties between the two nations and a mutual resolve to enhance cooperation for regional stability.

President Aoun also expressed gratitude for Turkiye's dedication to supporting the Lebanese army and its involvement in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
