Yalova: Three Turkish police personnel were killed and eight others were wounded on Monday during a security operation against a group of ISIS elements in Yalova Province in northwest Turkiye.
According to Qatar News Agency, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya addressed a press conference to announce the details of the operation, revealing that six ISIS elements were killed during the operation. The security operation commenced at dawn, leading to clashes between the police and ISIS elements. Yerlikaya noted that all the ISIS elements involved held Turkish nationality.
Additionally, the Turkish minister reported the apprehension of 138 individuals suspected of connections with the ISIS group, highlighting that authorities initiated legal action against 97 others over the past 30 days. He further explained that Turkish authorities conducted 108 security operations against the ISIS group in 15 provinces throughout December 2025.
