The Intelligence Agency arrested the arsonists in citizens' homes, vehicles, and shops on the Rusafa side.
A statement by the Agency stated that the detachments of the intelligence Agency specialized in combating terrorism in Baghdad Al-Rusafa received incidents of repeated fires within one of the areas in which private property of citizens were targeted, and when collecting information and conducting the necessary investigations about the circumstances of the recurrence of fire incidents in citizens’ property within the New Baghdad area, the intelligence Agency detachments in Baghdad al-Rusafa specialized in combating terrorism were able to diagnose the perpetrators, where an intelligence and technical work team was formed to pursue them and with a tight ambush two suspects of the arsonists were arrested, after chasing them in more than one district and region in an attempt to escape from the grip of our detachments.
He added that during the interrogation of the accused, they openly admitted that they had set fires to the citizens' property. Their statements were recorded and referred to the concerned authorities to receive their just punishment.
