Doha: The Syrian Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced on Sunday that it has fully contained the wildfires in western Hama countryside.
According to Qatar News Agency, Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed Al Saleh said the area will remain under close monitoring to ensure that the fires do not reignite.
The minister expressed regret over the losses suffered by Syrian citizens’ properties and agricultural lands, affirming that the ministry will continue its efforts to support those affected and protect the forests.
In recent days, several areas in western Hama witnessed extensive fires that consumed large swaths of forests and farmland, prompting a wide-scale mobilization of firefighting teams and government agencies to contain the blaze.
