Damascus: Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa and French President Emmanuel Macron have held talks on strengthening bilateral relations, with a focus on reconstruction and expanding economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two leaders also attended a Syrian-French roundtable meeting involving representatives of companies and investors ahead of the planned signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding covering key sectors including transport, energy, water, airports, digital infrastructure, and industry.
During the meeting, Al Sharaa expressed Syria's openness to French investment partnerships and emphasized the importance of establishing balanced economic relations to support Syria's recovery and development. He noted that Syria had developed a comprehensive reconstruction roadmap in collaboration with France and underscored the country's strategic position along global trade corridors.
President Macron indicated France's readiness to contribute to Syria's reconstruction efforts and to deepen cooperation with Damascus.
