Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) on Thursday announced readiness to extend the three-day armistace, due to end at midnight, for another 72 hours starting with the end of the current armistace.
SAF said in a statement, published on the official Facebook page, that building on the endeavors made by Saudi Arabia and US in contribution to calming the situation and extending the armistace to create appropriate conditions for evacuating citizens of various nationalities, and facilitating the humanitarian aspects for Sudanese citizens, the SAF command agreed to extend the armistace that was proposed for an additional 72 hours, effective starting the end of the current one.
Earlier today, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the US is working to extend the cease-fire in Sudan, which ends at midnight today, noting that the recent armistace reduced violence and helped complete air evacuations.
Lst Monday, Blinken announced the agreement of the two parties to the conflict in Sudan to a three-day cease-fire.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) also agreed to the first armistace in order to open humanitarian corridors, facilitate the movement of citizens, enable them to meet their needs, reach hospitals and safe areas, and evacuate diplomatic missions.
