Doha: Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad held talks on Thursday with HE Executive Director of UN Women, Dr. Sima Bahous. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, discussed the cooperation between the State of Qatar and UN Women.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in various fields related to gender equality and women's empowerment. Dr. Al Misnad and Dr. Bahous explored potential initiatives that could be implemented to support women and girls globally, leveraging Qatar's position and resources in partnership with UN Women.
The talks also covered shared goals in advancing women's rights and addressing challenges faced by women in different regions. Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening their partnership, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in achieving sustainable development goals related to gender equality.
