Qatar Assistive Technology Center (Mada) and Sasol, international integrated chemicals and energy company, represented by its initiative Accessible Qatar, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to coordinate joint cooperation between the two parties and support accessibility for persons with disabilities, on the sidelines of the Gulf Region Education and Assistive Technology Conference GREAT 2018, held from April 23 to 25.
The MoU regulates cooperation between the two parties in assessing the level of accessibility (digital and physical) of different entities in Qatar, as well as capacity building, exchange of experiences and training.
The two sides will cooperate in the field of community awareness of the importance of assistive technology to support and integrate persons with disabilities in Qatar.
Mada CEO, Maha al-Mansouri, expressed pleasure for partnering with Sasol, represented by its initiative Accessible Qatar, in the area of access and integration of persons with disabilities. She explained that the partnership comes within the role of mada to implement the State of Qatar’s digital access and web accessibility policy through building partnerships, providing evaluation, consulting and training to various government and non-government entities, in addition to ensuring accessibility and digital access so that persons with disabilities and the elderly can access digital content as well as information and communications technology on an equal basis with others.
