Madrid: Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sanchez discussed with Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun, currently on a visit to Spain, ways to boost bilateral the two countries' relations, especially in the economic field.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides explored the possibility of keeping Spanish military units in southern Lebanon following the withdrawal of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They also deliberated on Spain's participation in the upcoming international conference in Paris, scheduled for March, aimed at supporting the Lebanese army and internal security forces.
In addition, both nations signed memoranda of understanding in several sectors, including education, diplomatic training, and cooperation in agriculture and culture, to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
