Doha: HE Shura Council Secretary-General Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud has declared that the speech by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the first regular session of the second legislative term sets a definitive starting point for national initiatives in the upcoming phase. The address provided visions and directives aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks and fostering a culture of participation and responsibility across various developmental sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Shura Council Secretary-General extended congratulations to Members of the Shura Council for earning the confidence of HH the Amir. He expressed his hopes for their success in fulfilling their legislative and oversight roles with dedication. Additionally, he congratulated HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim on his election as Speaker of the Shura Council and HE Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti on her election as Deputy Speaker, wishing them success in their endeavors.
HE Al Mahmoud emphasized the General Secretariat’s commitment to supporting the council’s efforts and providing necessary resources to ensure effective mission performance. This support aligns with the council’s progress and its strengthening of national roles. He noted that the General Secretariat’s strategic plan (2025-2030) is inspired by the directives of HH the Amir, focusing on enhancing institutional performance through digital transformation, innovation, and the development of national competencies. Further, HE Al Mahmoud stated that the General Secretariat has finalized preparations for the new session by upgrading technical infrastructure, preparing council facilities, and training staff to maintain high levels of efficiency in sessions and meetings. He highlighted that over 90 percent of the General Secretariat’s workforce consists of Qataris, demonstrating the council’s commitment to nationalization and empowerment of local talent.
