Jerusalem: Settlers stormed Wednesday the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police.
According to Qatar News Agency, the settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque in groups, conducted provocative tours in its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals, including the epic prostration ritual, guarded by the occupation forces. Simultaneously, the occupation forces imposed strict measures on the entry of worshippers to Al-Aqsa and tightened their military procedures at its gates.
In a related development, Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and closed its entrances in preparation for carrying out a demolition operation.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank in October 2023, the occupation forces have intensified their repressive measures at the gates of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the entrances to the Old City in occupied Jerusalem. These measures include imposing strict restrictions on the entry of worshippers, increasing checkpoints, and conducting arbitrary searches, as part of a systematic policy aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence in the holy city and advancing the Judaization of Jerusalem, as well as targeting the religious and historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
