Saudi Arabia’s Inflation Edges Up to 1.8% in May

Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia's annual inflation rate, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), reached 1.8 percent in May compared to the same period last year. On a monthly basis, the index rose by 0.2 percent compared to April.

According to Qatar News Agency, Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Statistics reported that the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) recorded an annual increase of 4.6 percent in May compared with May 2025. On a monthly basis, the index rose by 1.2 percent from April.

The CPI measures changes in the prices paid by consumers for a fixed basket of 582 goods and services, while the WPI tracks price movements of goods before the retail stage based on a fixed basket comprising 343 items.
