Russian Military Claims Capture of Suvorovo and Nikanorovka in Eastern Ukraine

Donetsk: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces have taken control of two villages in eastern Ukraine. Units from the Center group of forces captured the towns of Suvorovo and Nikanorovka in the Donetsk region. The ministry reported the killing of 385 Ukrainian soldiers and the destruction of an infantry fighting vehicle, six armored vehicles, and a small truck in this axis of the fighting.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian military also targeted personnel and equipment belonging to Ukrainian mechanized brigades, assault regiments, and a territorial defense brigade in areas of Sumy Oblast. This development marks an escalation in Russia’s operations in eastern Ukraine.

Russia has intensified its advances in eastern Ukraine ahead of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, which is scheduled for this Friday in Alaska. The discussions aim to explore potential solutions to the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kyiv, which began in February 2022.
