Russia: Russia's defense ministry announced its intention to provide the United States with decrypted information from a Ukrainian drone. This decision follows Russia's allegations that the drone was part of an attempted attack targeting a presidential residence associated with President Vladimir Putin.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian intelligence services successfully extracted a flight mission file from one of the Ukrainian drones that was reportedly shot down late last month. The data allegedly indicated that the drone's final target was a facility linked to the residence of President Putin in the Novgorod region.
Russia previously accused Ukraine of launching a drone attack on the presidential residence. However, Ukraine has firmly denied these allegations, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissing them as "another round of lies" designed to justify further Russian aggression and extend the conflict.
The claims have been met with skepticism from several Western nations. While US President Donald Trump initially expressed sympathy towards Russia's account, asserting that President Putin had informed him of the incident and expressing his anger, subsequent reports from US media suggested otherwise. American national security officials reportedly concluded that Ukraine did not target Putin or any of his residences with a drone strike.
This incident has further escalated tensions and added to the conflicting narratives about drone usage in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
