Russia Destroy 2 Drones Targeting Moscow

Moscow: Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin said early Thursday that Russian air defense units had intercepted two drones targeting the capital. Sobyanin added via Telegram that specialists were continuously examining debris on the ground.

According to Qatar News Agency, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) stated that Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport had suspended departing and arriving flights to avoid risks. Restrictions were also imposed for some time at airports located along the Volga River.

The Governor of the border region of Voronezh earlier reported that more than 40 drones were destroyed over the course of the day. The Governor of the Bryansk region, also located on the border, announced the destruction of seven drones.

The Ministry of Defense stated in an earlier report that 18 drones were destroyed within three hours across several regions spanning central and southern Russia.
