Moscow: Russia has condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory and called on the international community to denounce these attacks, which it described as violations of international law.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the latest Israeli assaults represent a breach of Syria’s sovereignty and international legal norms, and therefore warrant strong condemnation from all countries.
“The renewed wave of violence in Syria is a source of deep concern for Moscow,” the statement said, particularly citing reports of brutal and unacceptable acts of retaliation against civilians. The Ministry expressed its strong condemnation of the Israeli bombardment, which targeted government institutions and civilian infrastructure in the capital, Damascus, and the southern province of As-Suwayda. It held Israel responsible for the escalation and urged the international community to act decisively to stop these repeated aggressions.
The Ministry also expressed hope that the implementation of planned de-escalation measures would help reduce tensions and lead to lasting stability in Syria. It reaffirmed Russia’s firm position on the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
On Tuesday, Israeli forces launched airstrikes targeting Syrian army command centers in Damascus and the southern province of Daraa, resulting in deaths and injuries.
