Russia Claims 1,165 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed and 116 Drones Shot Down

Doha: Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that its forces killed 1,165 Ukrainian soldiers and downed 116 drones. In a statement, the ministry detailed strikes on Ukrainian positions across 147 locations along the front lines, claiming damage to armored vehicles, artillery systems, ammunition depots, and electronic warfare stations.

According to Qatar News Agency, Russian forces also targeted energy infrastructure and railway cars used to transport Ukrainian troops to the Donbas region. Additionally, the statement mentioned strikes on facilities involved in the production and launch of long-range drones and storage sites for unmanned boats.

Since the onset of the war on February 24, 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have provided near-daily battlefield updates, often asserting territorial gains or successfully repelling attacks. These claims, however, remain challenging to independently verify due to the ongoing conflict.
