Doha: Russia announced on Thursday that it has taken control of new villages in three Ukrainian regions, continuing its advance on multiple fronts. In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that its forces seized Popiv Yar in the eastern Donetsk region, Kamianske in the southern Zaporizhzhia region, and Dehtiarne in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The ministry added that its battalions are pressing forward with their offensive and airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, despite the deadline set by US President Donald Trump for Russia to halt its military operations.
According to Qatar News Agency, in recent weeks, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine, often deploying hundreds of drones and missiles. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts remain stalled, with two rounds of negotiations in Istanbul, Turkiye, failing to yield any breakthrough – apart from an agreement on exchanging prisoners and the remains of soldiers killed in the conflict.
