Doha: Russia’s Defense Ministry said Sunday that its forces had taken control of a new town in southeastern Ukraine.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the ministry said units from its Eastern Group of Forces had seized the town of Rybnoye in the Zaporizhzhia region. It added that Ukrainian forces had suffered significant losses, with up to 615 soldiers killed in recent clashes, along with several armored vehicles and field artillery systems.
The battlefield claims could not be independently verified. Reports from both sides have frequently contradicted each other, and independent access remains limited due to the ongoing war, which began in February 2022.
