Ankara: The General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament has re-elected Numan Kurtulmus, a deputy from the ruling Justice and Development Party, as Speaker of Parliament for a second term in the 28th legislative session.
According to Qatar News Agency, the vote took place today during a session of the General Assembly in the capital, Ankara, with the participation of 529 members of parliament. Kurtulmus, who represents the province of Istanbul, received 329 votes in the third round, securing his re-election as Speaker.
Kurtulmus holds the distinction of being the 30th Speaker in the history of the Turkish Parliament.
