Doha: Qatar University (QU) announced Thursday, during a press conference, its final preparations to organize the graduation ceremony for its 48th class of students, marking a significant national milestone that highlights the university’s achievements in preparing and qualifying Qatari talents across various disciplines and vital fields.
According to Qatar News Agency, Vice President for Student Affairs at QU Dr. Mohammad Diab stated, “The new Class includes 3,680 graduates, 823 males and 2,857 females, from various colleges of the university, holding bachelor’s, diploma, master’s, and PhD degrees. The male graduation ceremony will take place on the morning of Wednesday, 7 May 2025, while the ceremony for outstanding female graduates will be held on Thursday, 8 May 2025, at the Sports and Events Complex (A07).”
Dr. Diab added, “QU will organize individual college ceremonies from Thursday May 8, through Sunday May 11 May of 2025. These will include the Colleges of Education, Business and Economics, Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Dental Medicine, Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Sharia and Islamic Studies, and Law, and will be held in both morning and evening sessions.”
He noted that this year’s ceremony is distinguished by the graduation of the first Class of the College of Dental Medicine and the first male Class of the College of Pharmacy. Additionally, one of the ceremonies will be held on Friday 9 May, with a special ceremony for the College of Business and Economics. Moreover, two separate ceremonies will be organized for the College of Arts and Sciences to accommodate the increasing number of graduates.
The Vice President for Student Affairs also confirmed that the ceremony rehearsals will begin on Saturday, May 3, 2025, with the outstanding female graduates’ rehearsal taking place in the morning at 9:00am, followed by the rehearsal for the male graduates at 12:30 PM. In addition, specialized training sessions will be conducted for the organizing teams to ensure the smooth execution of the ceremony.
In his remarks at the press conference, he added, “To enhance engagement with graduates, the university has launched the official graduation ceremony website at www.qu.edu.qa/ar/conference/graduation-2025, which contains all details related to the ceremony, such as academic attire, invitation cards, entry times, designated gates, and parking information, with continuous content updates.”
Dr. Mohammad explained that the university supports its graduates through the Alumni Relations Office by offering professional development programs, employment events, training workshops, and ongoing engagement with both public and private sector institutions to secure suitable job opportunities. Additionally, the university continuously coordinates with national and private institutions to support graduate employment in line with labor market needs.
He emphasized the role of the Career Development Center at QU in connecting graduates with the job market through the Labor Market Relations Section, which opens channels of communication with various entities across the country and announces services and professional opportunities that enhance graduates’ competencies and skills, boosting their job readiness and career paths.
In conclusion, Dr. Diab, Vice President for Student Affairs, extended a message of congratulations and appreciation to the graduates, emphasizing that this graduation marks the end of one phase and the beginning of a promising new journey in serving the nation and society. He called on graduates to carry the name of QU with pride and responsibility.
