Doha: Qatar University (QU) and Shell Qatar celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the “Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar” program, one of the leading national initiatives aimed at fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among Qatari youth and equipping them with the skills necessary to enter the business world with confidence and competence.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ceremony marked the graduation of 115 male and female students from various colleges and academic disciplines. The ceremony was attended by QU President Dr. Omar Al Ansari, Managing Director and Chairman of Qatar Shell Companies Rob Maxwell, as well as several members of the University’s administration and faculty, representatives of national entrepreneurship support entities, and students.
This graduation ceremony builds on the success of the program’s inaugural edition, which served as a platform to enhance the capabilities of 100 students through a series of practical workshops and professional mentoring sessions. Evaluation results from the first cohort demonstrated significant improvement in students’ entrepreneurial competencies and boosted their confidence in launching their ventures.
With the continued momentum of this initiative, the second cohort reinforces the program’s position as a prominent national effort in promoting entrepreneurial thinking and developing youth capabilities to engage in entrepreneurial activities, transforming their ideas into innovative projects that contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
In his speech during the event, Dr. Omar Al Ansari stated, “We are pleased at QU to celebrate the graduation of the second cohort of this distinguished national program, which reflects the type of strategic partnerships we value in supporting our students, enhancing their skills, and preparing them for the next stage of their professional journeys.”
He added, “We deeply appreciate our strategic partnership with Shell Qatar, whose generous support has played a direct role in the program’s success and continuity. We also recognize Shell Qatar’s commitment to investing in youth development.”
In his turn, Rob Maxwell remarked, “Intilaaqah represents what’s possible when industry and academia come together with a shared purpose. Through this partnership, we’re helping shape a generation that’s ready to lead, innovate, and build the future of Qatar.”
“Shell Intilaaqah – Qatar” program, implemented under the global Shell LiveWIRE initiative, stands as a model of partnership between the academic and private sectors. It plays a role in preparing a capable young generation with an entrepreneurial mindset ready to face future challenges. Through this second edition, the program continues its journey in empowering youth and enhancing their contribution to building a knowledge- and innovation-based national economy.
