QSE Index Starts Week Higher with Broad Sector Gains

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index started the week higher on Sunday, gaining 35.61 points, or 0.33%, to reach 10,886 points at the opening of trading. The increase was driven by gains across five sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, transportation led the advance with a rise of 0.97%, followed by Industrials with a 0.69% increase. Real Estate saw a gain of 0.56%, while Consumer Goods and Services increased by 0.35%. Banks and Financial Services also contributed to the uptick with a modest rise of 0.13%. However, not all sectors saw gains; Insurance edged down by 0.01%, and Telecoms slipped by 0.43%.

By 10:00 am, QSE reported a turnover of QR 63.086 million from 30.289 million shares traded across 2,948 transactions.
