QSE Index Opens Lower as Six Sectors Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index saw a decline of 31.45 points, or 0.29 percent, at the start of trading on Wednesday, dropping to 10,762 points from the previous session's close. The decrease was influenced by losses across six sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the sectors leading the decline included Banks and Financial Services with a drop of 0.53 percent, followed by Insurance at 0.43 percent, Real Estate at 0.33 percent, Industrials at 0.17 percent, Telecoms at 0.08 percent, and Transportation at 0.02 percent. Conversely, the Consumer Goods and Services sector recorded positive performance with an increase of 0.38 percent.

By 10:00 am, trading turnover had reached QAR 33.759 million, with 15.883 million shares traded across 1,823 transactions.
