Doha: The Qatar Social and Cultural Center for the Blind (QSCCB) is taking part in the cultural forum “Light in Culture-Creativity Beyond Sight”. Organized by Al Noor Association for the Blind in Oman, the forum currently underway convenes visually impaired participants, namely an elite of novelists, writers, poets, artisans, actors, and musicians from 14 Arab countries, and will run until Thursday.
According to Qatar News Agency, they all converge in one hub to channel the creative energies of visually impaired persons, along with their significant contributions to the Arab cultural scene. They likewise engage in intellectual panel discussions and professional workshops that aim to highlight the standing of people with visual impairments on the Arab cultural stage and promote the role of culture as a bridge for empowerment and inclusion.
The QSCCB’s participation is part of the unwavering efforts to shore up its members’ presence in Arab cultural forums and forge relationships with similar centers and associations in the Arab region. This would literally contribute to sharing expertise and spotlighting the creative capabilities of visually impaired individuals.
