Lyon: Qatar's Mubarak Saeed clinched victory in the men's 1,500m at the Meeting National Est Lyonnais in France on Saturday, recording a time of 3:37.09 to outpace a field of European competitors.
According to Qatar News Agency, Saeed's teammate, Mohammed Waheed, achieved a personal-best time of 3:37.60 to secure second place, showcasing an impressive one-two finish for Qatar. The event was part of the Qatar Athletics Federation's preparations for the World Athletics U20 Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Eugene, Oregon, in August.
Both athletes had previously qualified for the World Athletics U20 Championships in the men's 1,500m earlier in the season, setting the stage for further success on the international stage.
