Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hosts Workshop on Diplomatic Career Framework

Doha: Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a workshop on Monday focusing on the development of a job description and classification guide for the diplomatic and consular corps. The event aimed to streamline processes related to the roles and responsibilities within the diplomatic framework.

According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop was organized by the ministry's Human Resources Department and saw the participation of HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi. The event was also attended by department directors, assistant directors, and heads of Qatar's diplomatic missions abroad.

During the workshop, HE Director of the Human Resources Department, Abdulaziz bin Abdul Qader Mohammed Al Ahmad, presented the main provisions of the guide. He provided an overview of its contents, which cover the assignment regulations for foreign service personnel and locally employed staff at diplomatic missions. Additionally, he discussed the procedures for performance evaluation and the criteria for promotion eligibility, including the associated timelines.
